The rules for using relevare, your rights, and ours.

short version: use relevare for legitimate work purposes, don't do anything harmful, and you own your data. we provide the software as-is and aren't liable if something goes wrong.
relevare is a local software application that analyzes your workflow to find productivity bottlenecks and recommend solutions. it runs on your computer, stores data locally, and uses AI to identify patterns in how you work.
by downloading and using relevare, you agree to these terms. if you don't agree, don't use the software.
you must be at least 18 years old to use relevare. by using the software, you confirm that you are.
if you are using relevare on behalf of your employer or organization, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these terms on their behalf.
you may use relevare for lawful workplace productivity purposes. you may not:
relevare is built on top of an open-source capture engine. the open-source components are available under their respective licenses.
you own all data captured by relevare. we don't claim any rights to it. all captured data is stored locally on your computer. relevare does not upload, access, or retain your screen data on any servers we control.
you can delete all captured data at any time. see our privacy policy for full details on what is captured and how to delete it.
the free tier is available to individual users at no cost. to use AI-powered analysis on the free tier, you must connect your own AI account (chatgpt or claude). relevare does not provide an AI key on the free tier — analysis requires your own subscription. basic activity tracking runs without an AI connection.
the deep research add-on enriches recommendations with live web search results. this tier has a monthly fee. see our pricing page for current rates.
the org tier includes the team dashboard, cross-team pattern recognition, and managed deployment support. pricing is per organization. contact us for a quote.
we may change pricing at any time. existing paid subscribers will receive 30 days notice before any price increase takes effect.
relevare integrates with third-party AI services. there are important limitations you should understand:
relevare uses the Codex OAuth client ID to authenticate with chatgpt. this is a community-supported approach used by several open-source projects. openai has not explicitly sanctioned third-party use of this client ID. it works today, but openai could restrict it at any time. if you rely on this path, be aware of this risk. we'll notify users if this changes.
the claude setup-token path (via claude setup-token) is a community-supported approach. anthropic has not officially sanctioned its use by third-party applications. it works today, but could change. we'll notify users if this changes.
on paid tiers, relevare provides the AI connection using our own API account. your app usage metadata is sent to anthropic's API under our account for analysis only. raw screen content is never sent. see our privacy policy for full details.
when you use your own AI account, your use of that AI service is governed by that provider's terms. you are responsible for compliance with openai's and anthropic's terms of service when using their services through relevare.
if your organization deploys relevare across multiple employees:
organizations deploying relevare are responsible for ensuring their deployment complies with applicable employment and privacy laws in their jurisdiction.
relevare is provided "as is." we make no warranty, express or implied, that the software will work without interruption, be error-free, or meet your specific requirements. use it at your own risk.
to the maximum extent permitted by law, relevare and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the software, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or business interruption.
our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of relevare will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. if you are on the free tier, our liability is limited to $100.
you can stop using relevare at any time by uninstalling the app. deleting ~/.relevare/ removes all captured data.
we may terminate or suspend access to relevare if you violate these terms. we'll try to give you reasonable notice except where we believe immediate action is necessary.
we may update these terms from time to time. when we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page and notify you through the app. continued use of relevare after updated terms are posted means you accept the changes.
these terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction TBD]. any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
